The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 756 - Upland Wildlife Habitat Fund.

This bill establishes the Upland Wildlife Habitat Fund in the Department of Natural Resources as a special, non-lapsing fund consisting of voluntary contributions made separately or at the time of purchase of a hunting license. The bill clarifies how funding from nonresident hunting licenses may be used by the Department to plant food or cover for game birds and mammals.

House Bill 478, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me today, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 756.

Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
Governor
