Safe Havens - Infant Abandonment

Synopsis:

Requiring emergency services personnel and hospital staff members to take custody of infants who are abandoned by the child's natural parent when the infant is not older than 72 hours; providing specified immunity from prosecution; establishing procedures to be followed; and requiring steps to be taken by emergency services personnel, hospital staff members, the Department of Human Resources, and local departments of social services.
