Department of Health and Mental Hygiene - Comprehensive Tobacco Control Program - Sale of Tobacco Products to Minors

Synopsis:

Creating a comprehensive tobacco control program that prohibits the retail sale of tobacco to minors; requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) or its designees to inspect retailers; providing penalties for the sale or attempted sale of tobacco to minors by retailers; providing due process rights for retailers; providing for judicial review; requiring DHMH to develop an educational program; providing that more stringent local laws may be enforced; etc.
