Injury to or Death of Pet - Noneconomic Damages

Synopsis:

Establishing that a person who tortiously injures or causes the death of a pet shall be liable to the owner of the pet for specified noneconomic damages not exceeding $25,000 and, on a finding of actual malice, for punitive damages; and establishing that specified veterinarians and employees of government entities and nonprofit organizations may not be liable for damages under specified circumstances.
