Maryland Human Relations Commission - Hearings - Relief

Synopsis:

Altering various provisions of the Maryland Human Relations Commission law; providing a process for electing to file a civil action rather than have a case heard by the Office of Administrative Hearings; providing a process for the filing of a civil action by the Commission; expanding the relief available for acts of discrimination to include the award of compensatory damages to a complainant, subject to specified limitations; authorizing the award of punitive damages to a complainant; etc.
