Maryland False Health Claims Act

Synopsis:

Prohibiting false claims against a State health plan; providing penalties for making false claims against a State health plan; authorizing a person other than the State to file a civil action on behalf of the State against a person who makes a false claim against a State health plan; providing for remedies under a civil action; requiring the State to investigate a civil action alleging a false claim; authorizing the State to proceed with the action with or without the person that initiated the action; etc.
