Civil Actions - Enforcement of Prompt Payment of Claims

Synopsis:

Clarifying that a provision of law requiring payment of interest by insurers, nonprofit health service plans, and health maintenance organizations on claims that remain unpaid after 30 days may be enforced by filing a civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction; and prohibiting a person that files a civil action from also filing a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner.
