Cardiac Surgery - Licensing

Synopsis:

Repealing a provision of the State health planning law requiring the granting of a certificate of need to establish a cardiac surgery program in the State; requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to license, on and after January 1, 2002, cardiac surgery programs; providing for the issuance and renewal of licenses; prohibiting the Department from issuing a license under specified circumstances; requiring an applicant for a license or license renewal to meet specified conditions; etc.
