Correctional Officers - Payment of Special Death Benefits - Income Tax Subtraction Modification

Synopsis:

Requiring the Board of Trustees of the State Retirement and Pension System to pay a special death benefits allowance to the surviving spouse or other beneficiaries of members of the Correctional Officers' Retirement System under specified circumstances; allowing a subtraction modification under the Maryland income tax for special death benefits paid from a pension system to the surviving spouse or other beneficiary of a correctional officer who dies while employed as a correctional officer; etc.
