Public Safety - Correctional Institutions - Telephone Contracts

Synopsis:

Prohibiting contracts that provide telephone service for inmates from providing for the State or a local government to receive a commission or other form of revenue; prohibiting the State or a local government from receiving a commission or other form of revenue from inmate telephone contracts; requiring a reasonable reduction in charges for inmate telephone calls; and applying the Act to contracts entered into on or after June 1, 2002.
