Nonprofit Health Service Plans - Financial Audit to Determine Value of
Public Benefits
Requiring the Maryland Insurance Commissioner, in consultation with
the Legislative Auditor, to contract with an independent consultant
that has expertise in health care economics to perform a 5-year
retrospective financial audit to determine the value of public
benefits received by nonprofit health service plans; specifying the
contents of the retrospective audit; and requiring the independent
consultant to make a report on the findings of the retrospective audit
by December 1, 2002.
