Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 159 - State Board of Public Accountancy - Sunset Extension and Program Evaluation.

This bill extends the termination date for the State Board of Public Accountancy from July 1, 2004 to July 1, 2015 and requires a sunset evaluation report of the board by July 1, 2014.

Senate Bill 124, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 159.
