Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 487 - State Board of Master Electricians - Sunset Extension and Program Evaluation.

This bill extends the termination date of the State Board of Master Electricians from July 1, 2003 to July 1, 2013 and requires a sunset evaluation of the board by July 1, 2012.

Senate Bill 456, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 487.
