The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 332 - Business Occupations and Professions - Certified Interior Designers - Seal.

This bill requires certified interior designers to obtain a seal to endorse documents. The State Board of Certified Interior Designers is authorized to reprimand a certificate holder, or suspend or revoke a certificate if the certificate holder signs or seals any interior design documents after the certificate holder's certificate has expired or has been suspended or revoked. Certified interior designers must sign, seal and date any interior design documents submitted to clients or public authorities.

House Bill 697, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 332.

Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
Governor
