Labor and Employment - Equal Pay for Equal Work

Synopsis:

Authorizing an affected employee to bring an action against an employer to recover compensatory and punitive damages; requiring the Commissioner of Labor and Industry to assess a specified penalty against an employer who is found liable by virtue of a final judgment for the monetary damages; requiring the Commissioner of Labor and Industry to use the proceeds of the penalty for specified purposes; establishing an Equal Pay Commission; providing for the membership of the Commission; etc.
