Constitutional Amendment - Vacancy in Office of State's Attorney - Appointee Named by County Central Committee

Synopsis:

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Maryland to alter the appointment of a State's Attorney during a vacancy in the office of a State's Attorney; repealing the authority of specified judges to appoint a new State's Attorney to fill a vacancy; and requiring the Governor to appoint a new State's Attorney whose name was submitted to the Governor by the Central Committee of the political party in the county from which the State's Attorney was appointed or elected.
