Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 41 - Caroline County - Adkins Arboretum Loan for 2001.

This bill amends Chapter 231 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2001, the Caroline County - Adkins Arboretum Loan of 2001, to extend the time by which the Board of Trustees of Adkins Arboretum, Ltd. must provide a matching fund to June 1, 2005.

Senate Bill 459, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 41.
