Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 81 - Task Force to Study the Financial Impact of Retired Military Service Personnel on the Economy of the State.

This bill establishes a Task Force to Study the Financial Impact of Retired Military Service Personnel on the Economy of the State, provides for the composition of the Task Force, and requires the Task Force to report to the Governor and the General Assembly on or before December 1, 2003.

Senate Bill 480, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 81.
