Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 215 - Frederick County and Frederick City - Environmental Noise Standards - Fairgrounds - Exemption.

This bill exempts specified county fairs and other events in Frederick County from the authority of the Department of the Environment to adopt environmental noise standards, sound level limits, and noise control rules and regulations.

Senate Bill 361, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 215.
