Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 248 - Potomac River Fisheries Commission - Dredging of Oysters and Oyster Repletion Fees.

This bill expands the authority of the Potomac River Fisheries Commission to regulate the power dredging of oysters and authorizes the Commission to levy oyster repletion fees.

House Bill 344, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 248.
