The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 303 - Division of Labor and Industry and Associated Boards and Councils - Sunset Extension and Program Evaluation.

This bill continues the Division of Labor and Industry, the Amusement Ride Safety Advisory Board, the provisions concerning the employment of minors, the Wages and Hours Law, the State Mediation and Conciliation Service, the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Board, the Advisory Council on Prevailing Wage Rates, and the Apprenticeship and Training Council in accordance with the provisions of the Maryland Program Evaluation Act (Sunset Law) by extending to a specified date the termination provisions.

House Bill 651, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 303.

Sincerely,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
