Public Safety - Fire Alarm Systems - Modification for Hearing Impaired Condominium Owner

Synopsis:

Requiring that a condominium's council of unit owners, or its agent, modify the wiring of the building's fire alarm system and install visual fire alarms on written request of a unit owner who is deaf or hearing impaired; specifying the placement of the visual fire alarms in specified areas of the owner's unit and requiring the alarms to meet specified national standards; requiring the unit owner to pay up to $200 of the costs; and requiring that the modification comply with local fire and building codes and the State Fire Prevention Code.
