Criminal Procedure - Sexual Offender Registrant Name Change - Notice and Objection to Petition

Synopsis:

Requiring a person registered as a sexual offender to give written notice to the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services within a specified period after petitioning a court for a legal change of name; authorizing the Department to file an objection to the petition for a name change within a specified period; and prohibiting a court from granting a sexual offender registrant's petition for a name change under specified conditions.
