Family Law - Minors - Emancipation by Court Order

Synopsis:

Establishing a procedure for a minor of at least 16 years old to file a petition in court for emancipation; providing that an emancipated minor of a specified age has the rights and responsibilities of an adult with specified exceptions; including emancipation petitions in the equity court's jurisdiction; specifying the contents of the petition; authorizing the court to take specified action and requiring the court to hold a hearing on the petition; etc.
