Election of Circuit Court Judges - Nonpartisan General Elections

Synopsis:

Establishing a method for the election of circuit court judges on a nonpartisan basis at a general election; providing that a candidate for election as circuit court judge may not be nominated at a primary election; establishing a filing deadline for a specified certificate of candidacy; deeming the office of circuit court judge vacant under specified circumstances and requiring that the vacancy be filled in a specified manner; providing that a candidate for judge of a circuit court may not be nominated by petition; etc.
