The Honorable Michael E. Busch
Speaker of the House
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed House Bill 232 - Task Force on Assistance to Disabled Veterans Establishing Small Businesses.

This bill establishes a Task Force on Assistance to Disabled Veterans Establishing Small Businesses that will be staffed by the Board of Public Works. The bill specifies the membership and duties of the Task Force, requires the Governor to appoint a chair of the Task Force, and prohibits the members of the Task Force from receiving compensation but authorizes specified reimbursement. The bill also requires the Task Force to report to the Governor and the General Assembly by December 1, 2005. Senate Bill 319, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 232.

Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
