Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 283 - Fish and Fisheries - Seafood - Aquaculture.

This bill renames the Seafood Marketing Authority within the Department of Agriculture to be the Seafood Marketing and Aquaculture Development Program and alters the duties of the Aquaculture Advisory Committee within the Department. House Bill 971, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 283.
