Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 497 - Anne Arundel County - Wiley H. Bates High School Loan of 1998.

This bill amends Chapter 224 of the Acts of 1998 to require the proceeds of the Wiley H. Bates High School Loan of 1998 to be encumbered by the Board of Public Works or expended for specified purposes by June 1, 2006. House Bill 526, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 497.
