Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have vetoed Senate Bill 832 -
This bill repeals a provision of law that provides that surplus lines insurance may be procured from an unauthorized insurer if the surplus lines insurance is not procured to replace coverage for condominium associations that are insured by an authorized insurer and for which a specified renewal offer has been made.
House Bill 390, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 832.
