Synopsis:

Establishing the juvenile offense of truancy; establishing that the juvenile court has exclusive original jurisdiction over a child alleged to have committed the offense of truancy; establishing procedures for petitions alleging truancy; authorizing the State's Attorney to dismiss in open court a petition alleging truancy; authorizing the juvenile court to exclude the general public from a hearing on a truancy petition; specifying procedures for shelter care for a child alleged to have committed the offense of truancy; etc.
