Apology for Slavery

Synopsis:

Requiring the Governor of Maryland to apologize on behalf of the citizens of Maryland for the State's history of slavery, its long-held silence in the face of slavery, and the atrocities committed under slavery in the State; and requiring the Governor to issue the apology on the 144th anniversary of the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Lincoln.
