Vehicle Laws - Manufacturers - Consumer Access to Ignition Key Information

Synopsis:

Requiring a vehicle manufacturer licensed in the State to implement, by January 1, 2008, a system to provide a registered owner or lessee of a specified motor vehicle access to information sufficient to allow the reproduction of a key required to operate the motor vehicle; requiring a manufacturer to allow access to this information 24 hours per day and 7 days per week; authorizing the Motor Vehicle Administrator to impose a fine not exceeding $100 for a violation of the Act; and providing for the applicability of the Act.
