Election Law - Certificate of Candidacy - Given Name Requirement

Synopsis:

Repealing a provision of law authorizing a candidate for a public or party office to file a certificate of candidacy under a name other than the candidate's given name, initial of other given name, and surname by filing an affidavit attesting that the candidate is generally known by that other name in press accounts concerning the candidate or in the candidate's everyday encounters with members of the community; etc.
