Criminal Procedure - Police Reporting - Detained Undocumented Aliens
Requiring a police officer who encounters and detains in the normal
course of the officer's duties an individual who the police officer
determines is an undocumented alien to inform the U.S. Immigration and
Customs Enforcement agency of the Department of Homeland Security of
the detention as soon as possible after the police officer has
detained the undocumented alien; and providing that the Act does not
require that a police officer search for an individual for the sole
purpose of detaining undocumented aliens.
