Election Law - General Election to Fill Vacancy in the Office of United States Senator

Synopsis:

Altering the process to fill a vacancy in the office of United States Senator; specifying that the individual the Governor appoints to fill the vacancy serves only for a specified period until a successor is elected; providing that the successor to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term be elected at a specified general election; repealing provisions relating to the authority of the Governor to issue a proclamation calling for special elections to fill a vacancy in the office of United States Senator; etc.
