Natural Resources - Vessels - No-Discharge Designation for Maryland Waters
Clarifying provisions relating to the duties of operators of vessels
with respect to the overboard discharge of treated and untreated
sewage into the waters of the State; increasing the maximum amount of
the penalty for violations of specified provisions to $10,000;
authorizing specified officers to enforce specified provisions of law
and to inspect specified vessels; and requiring the State to initiate
a process with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to designate
Maryland waters as a no-discharge zone.
