Drunk and Drugged Driving with Child in the Vehicle - Retention of Child by Child Care Providers

Synopsis:

Authorizing an employee of a child care center or a person providing care at a family day care home to refuse to allow a person to leave the property of the center or home in a vehicle with a child if the child care provider has a reasonable belief that the person is under the influence of alcohol or drugs and it is unsafe for the person to drive; making it a felony for a person to drive or attempt to drive a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or under the influence of alcohol per se and while transporting a minor; etc.
