1997 Tax Reduction Act

Synopsis:

Reducing the top marginal tax rate under the Maryland income tax on individuals to 4.95% for tax year 1998 and by .05% each year for tax years 1999 through 2001 to the rate of 4.75% for tax years after 2001; altering the amount allowed for personal exemptions under specified circumstances; altering the calculation of the county income tax; altering an exemption under the sales and use tax for specified property used in a production activity; etc.
