Welfare Innovation Act of 1997

Synopsis:

Requiring individuals receiving benefits under the Family Investment Program to comply with specified additional eligibility requirements related to obtaining an initial health screen and, if appropriate, participating and complying with the substance abuse treatment protocols if the individual has been determined to be a substance abuser; requiring an applicant or recipient under the Family Investment Program to sign and return a specified medical record release form; etc.
