Welfare Innovation Act of 1997

Synopsis:

Requiring individuals receiving benefits under the Family Investment Program to comply with additional eligibility requirements related to obtaining a specified health screen and complying with specified substance abuse treatment protocols; requiring an applicant or recipient under the Program to sign and return a specified medical consent form; providing for specified forms of assistance to legal immigrants who meet eligibility requirements; providing for the use of specified funds by various organizations; etc.
