Family Law - Protective Orders

Synopsis:

Requiring that a copy of a protective order be served on a specified respondent in open court or by first class mail to the person's last known address; repealing a law requiring that a protective order be served by specified law enforcement personnel; providing that service constitutes notice of the order; establishing that service is complete upon mailing; extending the duration of protective orders to 12 months; requiring a temporary ex parte order to include a specified notice; etc.
