Health Insurance - Complaint Process for Adverse Decisions or Grievances

Synopsis:

Requiring a carrier to establish an internal grievance process for members; requiring a carrier to file a copy of its grievance process with the Maryland Insurance Commissioner and the Health Education and Advocacy Unit in the Division of Consumer Protection of the Office of the Attorney General and to update the initial filing annually; requiring the Advocacy Unit to refer to the Commissioner a specified member, to transmit specified information, and to establish a specified toll-free telephone number; etc.
