Maryland Family and Medical Leave Act

Synopsis:

Establishing the Maryland Family and Medical Leave Act; providing specified employees a total of 12 workweeks of family leave in a 12-month period under specified circumstances; providing that the family leave granted by an employer may be unpaid; providing that paid leave may be substituted for any part of the 12 workweeks of leave under specified circumstances; authorizing an employer to require an employee to provide written notice of the employee's intention to take family leave under specified circumstances; etc.
