Consumer Protection - Sale or Distribution of Personal Information - Limitations

Synopsis:

Prohibiting specified businesses from disclosing to a third party, for compensation, specified personal information obtained in a specified manner; providing that a violation of specified provisions of the Act is an unfair or deceptive trade practice; providing that a waiver of specified provisions of the Act is contrary to public policy and is void and unenforceable; prohibiting units of State government from selling or distributing specified mailing lists under specified circumstances; etc.
