Synopsis:Repealing the computation under the Maryland income tax of the standard deduction based on 15% of an individual's Maryland adjusted gross income; setting the amount of the standard deduction to be $2,000 for an individual and $4,000 for spouses filing a joint return, a head of household, or a surviving spouse; and applying the Act to all taxable years after December 31, 2017.
