State Personnel - Compensation of Lawyers Employed by the State

Synopsis:

Requiring that a specified budget be sufficient to fund the appropriate number of positions, salaries, and expenses necessary for the performance of the duties of the Public Defender; requiring that attorneys-at-law employed by the Public Defender be compensated at a rate of compensation that is comparable to the rate of compensation of attorneys-at-law employed by the Attorney General of Maryland; and requiring that the pay rate for specified lawyers be comparable to the pay rate for lawyers in the Office of the Attorney General.
