Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1339 - Anne Arundel County - Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts Loan of 1999.

This bill extends the date from June 1, 2001 to June 1, 2003 by which the Board of Directors of the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Inc., shall provide matching funds of up to $300,000 for the Anne Arundel County - Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts Loan of 1999.

Senate Bill 870, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 1339.
