Entitled:
Maryland Debt Management Services Registration Act

Synopsis:

Prohibiting specified nonprofit organizations from providing debt management services in the State unless they are registered with the Commissioner of Financial Regulation; altering the penalty for violations of a prohibition against engaging in the business of debt management services; prohibiting a specified organization from imposing charges or fees on, or requesting or accepting voluntary contributions from, specified persons; authorizing the Commissioner to take specified actions to carry out the Act; etc.
