Entitled:
Family Law - Grounds for Terminating Parental Rights

Synopsis:

Providing that, if a natural parent has not contacted a child within 1 year prior to the filing of the termination of parental rights petition, despite the opportunity to contact the child, a court may find that the child is abandoned; and requiring that a court consider whether the natural parent has been convicted of a specified crime of violence against specified persons in determining whether to terminate the natural parent's parental rights.
