Synopsis:

Allowing a court to grant a new trial motion and other relief based on scientific identification evidence; requiring the State to preserve evidence for crimes of violence and to make the evidence available; allowing the State to dispose of evidence under procedures; establishing and altering procedures relating to testing, storage, and disposition of evidence; repealing provisions relating to postconviction procedures and testing for DNA evidence; and altering a definition.
